Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia is a professional medical organization committed to the healing mission of Medicine. CCP specializes in providing comprehensive cardiology care and currently has 40 locations throughout the Philadelphia area.
We are currently hiring for a full time Certified Procedural Coder. Please note, this position requires traveling.
Responsibilities: This position evaluates medical records, provides clinical abstracts, assigns appropriate clinical diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with nationally recognized coding guidelines.
- Analyzes medical information from medical records.
- Accurately codes diagnostic and procedural information in accordance with national coding guidelines and appropriate reimbursement requirements.
- Consults with medical providers to clarify missing or inadequate record information and to determine appropriate diagnostic and procedure codes.
- Educate physicians and physician extenders on coding in the office and hospital setting.
- As assigned, compiles daily and monthly reports.
- Works independently under regular supervision.
Requirements:
- Must have a Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- Must have at least 3-5 yrs experience in a medical office setting, preferably in Cardiology
- Must have knowledge of different insurances
- Must have the ability to multitask
- Computer knowledge is a must
- Experience with an EMR system is a plus
- Must be well spoken, friendly, and outgoing
