Balloon Valvuloplasty

Balloon valvuloplasty is a non-surgical procedure that restores blood flow through a narrowed heart valve. In this procedure, your doctor will thread a catheter with a small balloon on the end to the affected valve. Once it’s in place, the balloon is inflated to expand the valve, which will restore blood flow. This procedure requires one to three days of recovery time in a special care unit. You may also need cardiac rehabilitation after this procedure.
