There is a lot of chatter about the new trend toward EMR (electronic medical record). Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia has gone 'live' on a two phase implementation project of an electronic medical record keeping solution. The doctors are all trained on voice recognition software, tablet PC's and a cardiology specific EMR customized by the CCP physicians and information technology staff.
The first phase of the project began in 2004, ending when the three Norristown offices were all on our EMR system in May of 2005. The second phase of the project was getting all CCP physicians and their staff trained and using the EMR system.
While the transition from paper to computer has been a long and sometimes difficult one, CCP has proven their commitment to combine cutting edge technology and innovation to enhance patient care.
